『(보이지 않는) 협력자들』은 미술계에서 활동하는 학예보조인력의 에세이를 모은 단행본으로, 그들의 진솔한 경험과 목소리를 담고 있다. 이들은 높은 전문성을 요구받는 업무를 수행하면서도, 하나의 전문영역으로서 충분히 인정받지 못하거나 큐레이터로 성장하는 과정에서 그 가능성을 충분히 평가받지 못해 왔다. 전시, 교육, 프로젝트 현장에서 ‘지원’ 혹은 ‘보조’라는 모호한 명칭 속에 가려져 있던 그들의 실질적이고도 핵심적인 역할이 이 책에서 드러난다. 『(보이지 않는) 협력자들』은 학예보조인력 사이의 사회적 유대를 강화하고, 동료로서의 연대를 모색하는 기반을 마련하고자 하는 학술적·실천적 시도로서 기획되었다.

(Invisible) Collaborators is an essay collection that brings together the candid accounts of assistant curators working within the art world. While they are tasked with responsibilities that demand a high level of expertise, they are seldom recognized as specialists in their own right or fully acknowledged as curators in training. Operating under ambiguous designations such as “support” or “assistance,” their indispensable contributions to exhibitions, educational initiatives, and diverse projects often remain obscured. This publication illuminates their critical roles and serves as an academic and practical effort to strengthen social bonds and foster solidarity among assistant curators.
