2021년 (사)권진규기념사업회와 유족은 많은 이들이 권진규의 작품을 접하길 바라는 뜻으로 총 141점을 서울시립미술관에 기증했다. 1950년대 주요 조각을 비롯해 소조, 부조, 드로잉, 유화 등 다양한 매체를 아우르는 이 기증은 큰 의의를 지닌다. 미술관은 이러한 뜻을 기리고자 2022년 탄생 100주년을 맞아 회고전 **《권진규 탄생 100주년 기념 ― 노실의 천사》**를 개최했다. 전시는 그의 시 「예술적 산보―노실의 천사를 작업하며 읊는 봄, 봄」에서 영감을 얻어, 입산(1947–1958), 수행(1959–1968), 피안(1969–1973)으로 전개되는 240여 점의 작품을 통해, 평생 고독한 수행자로 살다 간 예술가의 궤적과 불교적 세계관을 입체적으로 조망했다. 전시장 연출은 그의 아틀리에와 가마를 형상화하여, 관람자가 ‘노실의 천사’라 불린 그의 이상과 마주하도록 기획되었다.

In 2021, the Kwon Jin Kyu Memorial Foundation and the artist’s family donated 141 works to the Seoul Museum of Art, hoping to make his oeuvre widely accessible. Encompassing major 1950s sculptures alongside reliefs, drawings, and paintings, the donation holds great significance. To honor this legacy, the museum organized the retrospective “Kwon Jin Kyu Centennial Memorial—Angel of the Kiln” in 2022. Inspired by his poem An Artistic Stroll—Chanting While Creating the Angel of the Kiln, the exhibition unfolds across three chapters—Entering the Mountains (1947–1958), Ascetic Practice (1959–1968), and Beyond the Shore (1969–1973)—presenting over 240 works that trace his life as a solitary artist deeply immersed in Buddhism. The galleries evoke his studio and kiln, allowing visitors to encounter the transcendent ideal he sought, the “Angel of the Kiln.”
